Members of the Ignatian Youth Network, a youth wing of the Arrupe Jesuit Institute  on Saturday February 5th 2022 donated food items and toiletries to the inmates of the Weija Leprosarium in the Accra Archdiocese.

The exercise forms part of the network’s host of activities outlined to mark the 31st anniversary of the death of Servant of God, Fr Pedro Arrupe, SJ as well as preparations torwards the 3rd anniversary of the group.

The group presented items including bags of rice, gallons of cooking oil, toiletries among others.

Rev. Fr. Collins Obidiagha, SJ Assisting Director, Arrupe Jesuit Institute, who led the group to embark on the donation exercise said the group in consonance with its mission felt compelled to reach out to the marginalised.

“As a young group, we felt compelled to help the less fortunate, as God commands, and it was for this reason that we brought our widow’s mite to the Leprosarium.”
