IYNIGO had its 2021 Lenten day of recollection on Saturday, March 27, 2021. The quiet day heralded the Ignatian Year 2020-21, commemorating the quincentenary of the conversion of St Ignatius Loyola which will commence on May 21 this year. The recollection, which took place in the cool, serene, and cozy ambiance of Madonna Terrace in Peduase in Ghana’s Eastern Region, was facilitated by Fr. Cornelius Apilli, SJ, Acting Director of the Arrupe Jesuit Institute.

Fr Apilli stressed the importance of members being intentional in their interactions with each other, being active and making things happen as a group other than just being passive members. Acknowledging the fact that each group member possesses a unique talent, he admonished members to use their gifts to complement themselves. There were further interactions and inputs that aided prayer, reflection and interior peace.

Prior to their departure,  the group  made a cash donation and  presented some food items to Sr. Veronica Thompson, proprietress of Madonna Terrace retreat centre in appreciation of her hospitality.
